An innocent face, a mesmerizing smile and bubbly Ayesha Takia is all this and much more. She is one such actor who is capable of winning over people with her performances, be it comedy or a serious role.

Her latest venture is a comic thriller Sunday. When Ayesha Takia stepped into Bollywood with a movie like Tarzan the wonder car, everyone thought that she was one of those regular, wannabe actors.

W hen I meet her at a suburban club, she announces that perhaps for the first time in our movies, she’s playing a girl who earns her livelihood by dubbing for movie animation characters.

Yeah Ayesha Takia believes her role in the upcoming comedy, Sunday, has that edge of difference. Comedy is tough After her remarkable performance in Dor, Takia believes this has been her most demanding role. Er..really?

Rohit Shetty directed Sunday is all set for release on 25th January. En route to the arrival of film at the screens, producers Kumar Mangat and Sunil Lulla are leaving no stones unturned to make the film as the most prominent release of the month.

To give the film’s publicity further impetus, a promotional music video has been shot which would be on air soon. The song in question is

Interview : Ayesha Takia

We have all seen Ayesha Takia in different roles in various Bollywood flicks. We have even known about her ambitions and plans as an actress. Here we present a different Ayesha Takia who talks about music; her likes and dislikes.

What’s playing on your iPod these days?

Since I am doing a lot of workouts these days, it’s mostly Trance and Techno music on my iPod now.

Of the recent films released – TAARE ZAMEEN PAR, KHOYA KHOYA CHAND, WELCOME and DUS KAHANIYA, which, according to you, has the best music?

I would say that the music scored in all these films are great. While the music in WELCOME is mind blowing, I liked the music in KHOYA KHOYA CHAND too. A stylishly attired Ayesha Takia charmed at a press event at Raheja Classic Club, Andheri, Mumbai, Monday, January 7, to promote the film Sunday set for release on 1 February 2008. Also present on the occasion were co-stars Arhsad Warsi and Irrfan Khan.

Ayesha looked youthful in lightwash blue straight leg jeans with blue halter sleeve ribbed top with laced hem.

AyeshaTakia gets pranked

Ayesha Takia fell prey to a prank on the set of her new movie and I will give you one guess who it was.

If you said master prankster, Ajay Devgan, you are right! The prank was done during the shooting of the movie Sunday and not only Ajay but also the whole crew including director Rohit Shetty were in on it.

Shetty said, “We were shooting for an action sequence at a hotel in Delhi. Ayesha was supposed to stand with her back to the camera and turn when a car came close to her.

Ayesha Takia seems to have a thing for Republic Day and the celebrations which come along with it.

Her SUNDAY is all set for a release on 25th January, a day before Republic Day. This Rohit Shetty film was earlier planned for a February release but was pre-poned when plans changed for the release of JODHAA AKBAR.

Now if one goes a year back in advance, the biggest film of her career, SALAAM-E-ISHQ, was also released on 26th January in the year gone by.
