Ayesha’s nakhras

Ayesha Takia must be cursing herself to have turned down Pokiri. After Super, Puri Jagan’s first choice was Ayesha but this lady is believed to have dilly-dallied, putting the blame on dates as she had some Hindi flicks in hand while the actual problem was the fee.

The buzz is that she jacked up her fees abnormally after Super, which peeved even mentor Jagan who immediately roped in Ileana and the rest is history. Ayesha’s loss turned out to be Illeana’s gain as the latter is the hottest property in Tollywood today.

But the latest on Ayesha is that Geetha Arts is planning to cast her in its next film starring Pawan Kalyan to be directed by Trivikrasm Srinivas with Devisri Prasad composing music. Continue reading ‘Ayesha’s nakhras’

His ringback tone’s the hit song Yeh Asmaan from Dor. Clearly, Shreyas Talpade is soaking in every bit of success.

After Iqbal, you’ve now got praise for Dor. So you’re no one-film wonder?

I like to hear those lines. I love every moment of it, although it does add up to a lot of responsiblity. I enjoy the challenge it brings along with it. Honestly, I didn’t expect the praise. It’s great that wherever you go that people keep smiling at you…. Continue reading ‘‘It’s great when legends appreciate your performance’’

‘Dor’ is Ayesha’s dream role

Bollywood actress Ayesha Takia was recently in the news for declining a film offer. Reason? The lady is averse to kissing on screen.

Nonetheless, she is pleased as punch. Life post “Dor”, in which she played a simple and conventional Rajasthani girl with negative shades who lives by the strict traditions of her Rajput roots, is rocking.

The actress is upbeat about her forthcoming films — “Kya Love Story Hai”, “De Taali” and “Salaam-E-Ishq”, reports Bollywood Trade.

When quizzed her about accepting a negative role at this stage in her career, she said: “It all depends on how interesting or challenging the character is. Personally, I feel it’s better to do one good, meaningful film than six glamorous films. I guess ‘Dor’ has been my dream role so far. I want to do roles that have substance and those that help me grow as an actor.”

What’s her take on astrology?

“I don’t believe in astrology. I don’t think one stone or one number here and there can change your life. I’ve never visited an astrologer,” she replied.

Ask her about awards and she gets candid.

“I’d be lying if I say that they don’t mean anything to me. Who doesn’t enjoy those five minutes of glory? Moreover, who doesn’t like being up there though it’s not like it’s the most important thing in the world.”

Sahara One Motion Pictures and Director Nagesh Kukunoor are happy these days. And why not, their latest blockbuster DOR is drawing huge audiences still, thanks to the unique and clutter breaking storyline which is so relatable to the human heart, its amazing acting prowess by each individual actor, cinematic locales and of course the brilliance of Nagesh itself. The film has garnered critical acclaim with laudatory reviews from all media and with special screenings of the movie arranged for stars such as Sachin Tendulkar, Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and others, it just goes to show what a superlative impact the well made film has had on Indian audiences.

Hauntingly real, DOR is yet another winner from the stables of Sahara One Motion Pictures, which has had hits like HANUMAN, MALAMAAL WEEKLY, CORPORATE and now DOR despite other big box office draw releasing at the same time. Thanks to a tactically brilliant distribution and marketing strategy, the film has made a big impact across India and results are on show!

The film stars Ayesha Takia, Gul Panag, Shreyas Talpade, Girish Karnad and Pratiksha Lonkar and canvases the journey of two women from different worlds and how these two sets of lives come together through a tryst of destiny. DOR makes you ask yourself how far you will one go to save the one you love. It’s a story about love, loss, friendship, hope and ultimately, redemption.
