Ayesha Takia on her five favourite dishes

Pasta
if in town, Ayesha must troop down to her boyfriend Farhan Azmi’s italian restaurant Basilico, in Bandra every day. “Pasta and salads are my favourite. i can have italian every day,” she laughs.
Mutton Biryani
With a Gujarati father and Muslim mom, Ayesha has sampled a blend of cuisines, and of all the indian traditional dishes, she loves the mutton biryani, “The saffron and Kewda aroma and the succulent meat chunks with long-grained rice just make my day,” she sighs longingly.
Chinese platter
Like most youngster of her generation, Takia loves to dig into mounds of Chinese hakka noodles and yummy wonton soups. “Hot and tangy – gimme Chinese anytime,” she backons.
Vada Paav
The humble Mumbaiya burger – vada paav – has been Ayesha’s favourite bite since her childhood. “i grew up in Chembur and i just freak out on the vada paav near Chembur Post Office,” she informs. Her mom adds that this is one dish that tops her darling beti’s wish-list.
Pizza
“Got pizza, will have it,” she says, “But with loads of cheese puh – leeze,” she adds, “i love all kinds of dairy products.”
