Her acting talents were repeatedly under the critic’s scanner until she proved them wrong with her realistic performance in Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘Dor’. Now, Ayesha Takia is back in a funky avatar with her upcoming movie ‘Fool N Final’ directed by choreographer-turned-director Ahmed Khan.

“I simply love to accessorise myself. That’s how I am in real life as well and that’s what even Ahmed had in mind during the shoot. He would always keep experimenting with our caps and our bandanas in-between shots,” says Ayesha, as we compliment her on the funk quotient.

When asked about her role in the upcoming movie where she shares screen space with Shahid Kapur and Sunny Deol among many others, she says, “What’s most interesting about this role is how I break into a typical bihari accent with that funky look on. It’s very funny.”

Ask her is there’s another role of substance in the pipeline, and she explains, “I think you need a right balance in the roles you perform. A character like the one in ‘Dor’ tends to take a toll on you. Staying in that harsh climate and living that role for 40 days at a stretch is not simple,” remembers Ayesha.

“There were times during the shoot when I actually regretted being in the movie and cursed Nagesh over and over again. But at the end, all was worth it.”

The actor hasn’t been devoid of her share of gossip and rumours with co-actor Shahid and Kareena Kapoor. “Once I heard I was upset with Kareena for performing a song in one of my movies. I didn’t understand the logic. It’s good for the movie in any case,” she says.

So, how does she manage to get through it? “I feel it’s just a price that you pay for being a celebrity. Controversies used to bother me but not any more. I have just accepted them as they come, not paying attention to any of them.”
